Abstract
There is a little doubt today as to importance of better understanding of multifaceted and highly complex world of politics and religion. Islam and politics seem to be everywhere today. Numerous interpretations in the efforts to explain the phenomena of political Islam were advanced by various Muslim thinkers and scholars over the centuries including the examination of postcolonial state formation in the Muslim world. Moreover, answer to the question of whether the establishment of an Islamic political order is the primary task of every Muslim or not? Similarly, the question of policy and procedure to regain the glory and honour of Muslims has been crux of the debates in recent decades.
Molana Wahiduddin Khan, born in Azam Garh, India (1925-2021) is one of the most influential Muslim thinkers of the 20th century. Khan’s aim was to present Islam in the contemporary idiom including exploring the meaning and scope of Muslim’s political engagement.  He is well known for his critique of Molana Mowdoodi’s political interpretation of Islam. He considered Modoodi’s thought as a "Psychology of Reaction". Khan is a pacifist intellectual advocating peaceful coexistence and non-violent struggle with pluralistic approach – a position which can be traced in his over 200 books, a journal “al-Risāla (Eng. version: Spirit of Islam)”, and his commentary "Tazkeer-ul-Quran". This humble effort is aimed at presenting an analytical study of his political thought.
