He maintained contact with the literary atmosphere and people of Sialkot. Before the establishment of Pakistan, the literary atmosphere of Sialkot was hot and even after the establishment of Pakistan, the literary heat continued in Sialkot from the beginning. Literary festivals and literary organizations of Sialkot are mentioned in detail. Shajar had deep connections with Allama Iqbal. Shajar Tehrani's grandson Mirza Mohammad Fazl told in a meeting that Shajar used to meet Iqbal when he used to go to Lahore. Even if Shajar and Iqbal did not have relations and connections, Shajar's mind and religious tendencies and ideas would have forced Shajar to be influenced by Iqbal anyway.Shajar was a national poet and his poetry had all the characteristics of a national poet.
