Abstract
AbstractObjectives: To determine level of physical activity after aerobic training and to determine perceived level of exertion after aerobic training.
Methodology: This Quasi experimental study was carried out at Fitness studios of Islamabad and Lahore and total 100 females aged 18-50 years (mean 27.70±5.913) participated in the study, recruited through purposive sampling technique. Aerobic training was given for three days per week for eight weeks. International physical activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) short form to assess physical activity and Borg Scale was used to assess perceived level of exertion before and after aerobic training. Data were analyzed on SPSS version 20.
Results: Mean age of participants was 27.70±5.913 year; 60% were married, 51% were working and 64% belonged to upper middle class. IPAQ median±IQ score before aerobic training was 3.00±2 and after it was 2.00±1 (p<0.001). Aerobic training exertion level on Borg scale before aerobic training median±IQ was 3.00±2 and after it was median±IQ was 2.00±1 (p<0.000).
Conclusion: Physical activity level increased from low to high level after aerobic training and perceived level of exertion decreased after aerobic training.Key words: Comparison, physical activity, perceived exertion, aerobic training.
