Abstract

With the appearance of human life on the planet, language was given to man, through man expresses the thoughts in his conscience, and with the use of language, man expresses his likes and dislikes or his desired or orders. It expresses that humanity has been given the power to use language for communication among themselves. This is the reason why man is considered to be distinguished among all other creatures in this regard. However, Arabic is one of the most eloquent human languages. This article is about Linguistics, its definition and the details of its types, and the special knowledge of Linguistics among its types. According to how many periods it consists of, this research has details about it. Awareness about the branches of linguistics and especially the historical division of Linguistics among the branches of linguistics has been highlighted and explained.
