Abstract
After Tennyson, Robert Browning is considered second great poet of Victorian Era. The essayist claims that Robert Browning has exercised great impact on the Urdu poets, especially Majeed Amjad, Meera ji, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, and even Allama Iqbal. Browning was much impressed by Charles Darwin who was the Biologist, linguist and Naturalist. Darwin's theory impinged upon the poetry of Browning and from it, this though was disseminated in Urdu poetry though Majid Amjad and Meera ji. The author has cited divergent example from their poetry. Dramatic monologue that I'd characterized of Browning in poetry, is extremely employed by faiz Ahmed faiz similarly, the writer has admitted the effects of Browning poetry on Allama Iqbal. In this article, the author has proved with arguments that the influence of Darwin's ideas in the poetry of Meeraji and Majeed Amjad is actually the influence of Robert Browning's poetry and the author has also proved that the dramatic monologue in Iqbal's poetry. There are glimpses that are also the result of the influence of Robert Browning's poetry.
